The issues on my community faced today cause poverty, pain ,anger, lack of knowlegde of there culutre and traditional ways. These issues are not enough support from one another, like family and around the community. Another problem would be the lack of social suport and parenting for younger Native youth. My passion is to create a strong united community with the knowledge of there culture and traditional ways. This will lead to a safe community and communtication with one another. Also this helps provide programs like culture centers, schools, summer programs,more jobs, physical active with Native youth, adults.

I think one of the best ways to eradicate all of the negative things happening in our community is by first taking care of ourselves. I think it’s awesome that you have taken time for yourself and your future by coming to the Pitzer Pipeline. I know you will take tools back home with you that will help heal and empower so many other Oglala Lakota.
