Busy Day :o

Yesterday was the day we all drove to Cal Poly. I’ve been exploring Cal Poly since I was about 9. As most of you know my mother works at Cal Poly as a professor in Ethnics and Women’s studies…I love Cal Poly!!! It has a beautiful campus… and the academics are great… Irvin provided lunch for us! I thank him for that… and I thank my mother for giving us that wonderful tour. When we got back there we had tutoring with the SAT guy… shockingly it was pretty fun, because it was i like math… shhhhhhhh don’t tell anybody though! It’s a secret. To save the best for last; the movie Smoke Signals!!! YAH!!!!! 🙂 I loved it!!! It’s one of my favorite movies. I know almost all of the lines… but not only that I love the message it sends out as well…

Gene Autry Museum!!!

The museum was such an interesting experience yesterday! I loved all of their artifacts that I saw… from our Native cultures. A big part of that museum was very emotional and yet still very educational… We also had the talent show yesterday! (TOTALLY EMBARRASSING) I can’t believe it. My mom bought me this air guitar T-shirt and I played in an AIR BAND!!! It was great!!! I participated in many acts, trying to entertain the students from Japan. They were a blast to dance with. I really enjoyed Nick’s guitar playing… It was one of my favorite parts. I could believe… man he was awesome. We had a dance party after everyones acts… It was a new experience learning new dance moves from the Japanese. I think they enjoyed learning new moves from us to.

NBC Universal!!! :D

NBC Universal was so much fun. I had a blast. I especially loved the part when we had lunch and the people that came to speak to us about internships, our careers, and what we wanted to do. I loved listening to all of their back stories and what they wanted to do in 10 years. I also really loved the lunch. It was delicious. I enjoyed the tour and the guy that gave us the tour he was great. I learned of a lot about the little things when It came to filming, because that It is one of my passions!!! The rides in the theme park were definitely a blast. Later, when we got back we had a class based on the movie we watched before. I learned quite a bit about the government… things I had never heard of before. I also really appreciate Scott and all the mentors for their help and support with everything. Their always their when you need them…. ❤

I am in love with this video!!! Alot of information and the lessons I am learning here at Pitzer are about this video of us and the SEVENTH GENERATION!!! I recommended.. and the music is great! It was soo relaxing!!!

FARMER’S MARKET!!! <3 HI-LARIOUSZ

We walked to the farmers market today. Our original intention was to buy food for the next day but that didn’t work out hahahaha… I went and I tried every sample in the Farmer’s Market whther it was nastey or not. Good thing everything was delicious I loved It!!! Except for the apple juice Vanessa bought… gross… then I went into the store and I saw TUNA in a box! Like what the heck, that’s like soup in a box it’s just so weird!!!

I’M STILL NOT SURE!!???? -_-

I understand the fact that Sovereignty is about higher ultimate power or something like that… I’m not really sure exactly If I quite understand the whole concept of it.? Deron Marquez came to Pitzer for the second time as one of our teachers, and his main topic that he heavily tried to imprint on us was SOVEREIGNTY!!! I love to hear him speak…hahaha It was funny because he was telling everyone that we were all soooo quiet! I mean but It was basically only because we were trying to listen to everything he was saying, and I mean not just listening but taking in the depth of the point he was trying to get across. I believe he is a very experienced, intelligent, and a wise man who has a deep love for his culture. I believe another one of his points he was trying to get across was that his reason for sharing the history with our generation and others was to let people know that…. you need to know these things not to be angry or sad or to really express our feelings in such a way that it would not benefit us, but that it’s what we do with all the anger hate courage faith sadness and knowledge that we would channel it into a good and positive action that would help people, the world, our tribe. He said “It’s what you do with with those feelings, It’s how you channel those feelings that makes a difference!” – Deron Marquez. I reallly enjoy learning from him!!! Especially since I love History!!! 😀
