Cadaver Lab 5/9/12

Yesterday, we went to the cadaver lab at Western University and got to see hearts, brains and legs. At first, I was a little grossed out, but once I started getting used to being in there for a while, I started to become interested. I dont want to go in there again, but it was a good experience and opprotunity to see what it would be like.

Yesterday at Western University was wonderful because some of us got to learn about the cadavers, the human brain, and the heart. After the lab we all got our certification that we know a lot about diabetes which was exciting. Then, we took plenty of pictures and when we got back to Pitzer most of us went to the gym so it was fun because we were all each others motivation 😀 then we had a class with Geri Keams that was very interesting cause we all made up stories within 25 minutes and then ended up being great(: Also, props to Mika for taking all these great pictures of us the past two weeks and spending most of his days with us 😛ImageImageImage This is for Brittany >;D

Yesterday at We…

Yesterday at Western was so amazing. The human cadavers were so interesting even though it was just a human body. We actually got to see inside it and how it works. I think we are very grateful because not a lot of people get opportunities like this. that was once in a lifetime experience. I’ve learned so much at western such as diabetes, body parts, and even people at disney need to know how to body structure words. Then we had story time with jerry that was fun i always love a great story. i think i have gained so much knowledge from this program and i think its to early to go home. i wish i had people like this in my life all the time. I like to thank the creator for giving me another day to live everyday. And everyday is amazing.

Pechanga and Pool Party-Alysha

Yesterday (August 8) was my nephew’s 4th birthday, so my day was blessed from morning to evening: We woke up really early, went to ceremony at 7:00 A.M., and ate breakfast at 7:30 A.M. in order to get in the vans and head out to Pechanga. The drive took about an hour and a half, but because I rode the “party bus”, we had a nice time jamming out to music and enjoying our ride over there. Once again, it was a hot day, but we were honored to see the 2300 year-old Great Oak that stands on that reservation. I felt like I got to see two wonderful trees this summer, and although that may seem like an unusual object to be so happy about, but back where I live, the only trees we have are the normal “lollipop” trees. So, seeing the different formations of trees are so cool! We left Pechanga and headed out to Dr. Rega’s house at around 1:00 P.M. for a pool party. Normally I do not get in a pool (I have a fear of pools…and water guns, sprinklers, etc.), but yesterday, my mind was calm and somehow, I gained the strength to get into a pool and have fun with everyone. I scared Brittany a couple of times, which was so funny!! Later that night, we had a workshop with Deron Marquez to talk about Tribal Government, and Adelina Padilla joined us. That was a nice way to end the night, because I got to learn about Tribal Government and the schedule, which I didn’t know before.

The past days-Ashley

These days seem to be going by faster and faster; the days are fully packed that they make you exhausted by the end of the day. I know sometimes I may complain but at the end of the day I have learned more than I could handle. Yesterday we went to Pechanga and learned about the reservation. I have never seen anything that was as beautiful as theGreat Oak Tree.

After we went to Dr. Rega’s her hospitality was beyond amazing. It was just a blast to be with our Pitzer family and have quality time before our time ends together. Yesterday became so surreal because we graduated from Western and received a certificate of completion. One graduation down , now only one more to go.

yesterday was interesting the cadaver lab was good the brain and heart did not phase me in the least so i liked it. we also wrote little story’s for our speaker, i was tasked with how the skunk got its white strip or black? today’s ceremony was of interest as well, as of right now i am supposed to be blogging, but i am not.

Yesterday was an interesting day…

First we went to Western University and it was our last day there.  We went into a big room filled with human cadavers.  I thought i would be okay with it but i kind of got creeped out.  It was still very interesting learning more about the human body and actually getting to see it.

After that we came back to campus and i worked out…

THEN…we had a speaker come and she told us stories and had us create our own stories.  It was really fun listening to other peoples stories because they were all very creative.

During freetime Luna, Brittany, Shane and I went to the vending machines and had an international party.  We met three Italian guys and they were very nice😉 Hope fully we meet more international students.

Body

Yesterday we went to Western University to see body organs from real people. we seen the hearts, brain, leg, and many other organs or body parts. We also got to see  dead body it was gross and it smelled bad
