My Depiction

The question we need to ask ourselves is “Are we all related?”. You know, you hear all these different concepts for all these different people. Many people are brought up differently, so the lens they chose to look into is the one they continuously side by. These lens I speak of, is made up of many, many different themes. A spiritual lens, a political, a cultural, any type of lens which has people perceiving the world in their own or communities ways. Everyone is like this, including myself.

My depiction of this question we ask, is simply no. Family is such a powerful word and is being used in such a false and degrading manner. In my case, family, means trust. I can not just say we are all related. There are people in the world who are trying to bring you down, making you feel like complete… I pick my family; family can include blood related family and family friends. These are people I trust. People who strengthen me every single day. People who want me to thrive and be successful. This is what family is.

Another wonderful day in the world of pitzer. We expanded our knowledge in Aztec math and got a deeper understanding of multiplication. We began writing rough drafts and using UC prompts. Then we traveled to western university and learned about phlabotomy(thinks that how you spell it) but it was very interesting and we got to simulate drawing blood from someone. So yes thing are going great learning more and more everyday

Freaking out, needles, and fake blood

Well, well today was quite interesting, today we went to Western University or two class lessons. The first class was phlebotomy which if you don’t know that, it is a procedure that removes blood from the body. So of course I freak out because I clearly don’t like to have blood taken out of my body but they showed us the meaning of phlebotomy  and then we did a practice on a rubber square that had fake veins. We went through the whole process on learning how to take about blood. Then we learned about ecological toxins mostly about the ocean and how the sea animals get shellfish poisoning, also how humans get sick.

Singing With Love

Today in the sunrise ceremony, everyone was tired. Most of us had our eyes half way closed from lack of sleep. However, our faces changed when the sun reached a point in the sky to greet us. We all felt the sweet warmth of the suns greeting on our faces. Every single one of us took it in with delight. We no longer felt tired. Instead, we felt energetic, with an urge to move our feet with drum beats, and that is what we did.
