Pool party:D

The day started out with us going to Pechanga.  We first went to the cultural center and learned a little about their land.  To me the most interesting part of Pechange was the Great Oak.  It felt like a shelter and it was way bigger then i thought it would be.  We also went into a model sweat which was really interesting because it was built into a hill.  We saw the huts that they used to live in wayyyyy back in the day.

Later that day we went to Dr. Rega’s house for a pool party.  Her house was fun and we all had fun swimming.  I had a gun war with Fabian but he just got massacred.  Poor kid. >.<

Dr. Rega made yummy food for us and she was a great host.  i hoped we can go visit her again in the future.  Her son was making us snow cone shots and it was really cute.  Except he told me andna that we couln’t have 3 rounds and we had to come back later if we wanted more…guess he didn’t want us to get a sugar rush??

Yesterday was a really great day and I am going to miss everyone when we have to leave each other:/

POOL PARTY!!!

Yesterday we had a pool Party at Dr. Rega’s house! Played Batman Arkham City! XDD Best Batman video game ever! Haha!!!!! Went swimming………….. Only for 30 minutes. xD Can’t stand the water. lol Anyways…. I ate A LOT of food! >.< Feel so fat! What can I say? I need some meet on them bones! xDD It was awesome and we had a wonderful time! And I thank Gale for the new set of colored pencils and a new Sketch Pad! Thank you so very much! They are amazing to use! 🙂 I love it! I really do!
Yesterday was a blast! xD

The past few days have been very culturally informative. Yesterday we went to Los Angeles and identified many different types of traditional plants that were used for medicine and food. It made me think very differently about the way I am living my life now compared to how my ancestors once lived.

Also, Hula dancing was really fun, I’m glad that they have that part of their culture to share with us. The dance was very beautiful and it made me wish I could go back to Hawaii.

I liked this picture because of the confused look on my face. I am apparently no dancer!

the life of the native pipeline porgram

This Native pipeline program is so unqiue and amzazing to expiernce and knowledge the culture, traditional ways, family support, love for one another .This program helps alot of Native Americans with more knowledge, of tradtional ways and of there culture. I am proudly to say that  i enjoy the pipeline program and its  also its like a family communtity .

what I know about my culture

I never realized that my Hawaiian culture would mean so much to me and my family, when my dad came to pitzer to teach my class I felt bad for not dancing hula anymore and also not paying attention to my dad when he teach his classes. I know that I carry something very special and I should continue learning more about it and understanding it. I want to show Grandma and Grandpa what I can be, and what I can Accomplish. I want to learn my language, I want to teach my children and my grandchildren.
