Pitzer College has many different benefits. Pitzer provides various of recreational activities to do after they have a long week of studying and working. This school built a flexible cirriculum so their students can do any free activities or study. Whatever is wisest. There is also on-campus entertainment and special interest clubs offered by The Claremont Colleges. When it comes to athletics, Pitzer joins with Pomona college and that makes a great team. During this entire week, I’ve been waking up EARLY and going to bed later than usual. I underestimated the work a college student has to go through. There is work piled on top of work and things you wanna do when outside of class. You also have that responsibility to finish your homework and keep you clothing in check and clean. There really is a lot of work than what I’m really getting at. This entire time we had our break today, I slept like a log. There was no way I could do this every day. It amazes me of how many times people do this without trying. When we walked around the Scripps College, I was walking but it was without my consciousness. I was glad we got to sleep in and get more sleep throughout the day. My favorite part of the day! 🙂

Relaxing in Tucson
At the University of Arizona, there are lots of ways to relax. We have a huge recreational center in the middle of our campus that if you’re a student, you get unlimited access to all the courts, weight rooms, and tracks. Football season is during the fall, so you can get discounts on the games OR you can buy the ZonaZoo pass for $250 which gives you admission to all the home games for ANY sport ALL year!
We also have malls nearby and movie theaters that I tend to go to all the time… Plus, I tend to go to Mount Lemon or “A” Mountain to enjoy the view of the city.
Relaxing in College
As you students have seen, college curriculum can be long and repetitive. Yes, you get to choose your classes for your major, however there are general education classes like math, english, biology, chemistry, and history that are still required to complete your degree. Some times it can seem like college is all work and no play, but remember that these times will have provide you with once in a lifetime opportunities. In my case, I was able to discover my heritage in Aztec Dance, and take wonderful risks with rock climbing.
Twice a week I would be able to recharge my soul with my traditional dance alongside members in my native community, all the while taking in the sweet smell of copal. It would allow me to remind myself why I was trying so hard in college; for the sake of my people and my family. Three times a week, 3 hours a day, you could find me at Metal Mark Rock Climbing Gym in Fresno, working on improving my physique from the tips of my toes to the ends of my fingers. Bouldering is as much a physical sport as it is a sort of full body puzzle. You try to solve each problem on the rock with your entire being, flexing, relaxing, pushing and pulling, some times all at once!
College is as much studying and learning as it is making new friends and relationships. Yes, you’ll have those days where you wish you could sleep just one more hour or eat more than just pb&j, but remember to set aside time for yourself, to breathe, recover, and smile ^__^.

The college that I decided to look up was the University of San Diego. Some activities that students can attend off campus are things such as rock climbing, hiking, surfing, camping to build student responsibility or even staying a night some where to get out of comfort zone.

The first college that comes to mind to me is the University of Hawaii at Manoa. They offer varsity sports, student publications and media outlets, on and off campus internships and employment opportunities, and study aboard programs around the world. The University of Hawaii Manoa is something I found in the common app class and I really want to go there after I found it in the common app class. Hawaii is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go to and I think I want to go there for college and go into Nursing or Native Studies. I think an idea on how to relax after a long week of studying is drawing or writing. Maybe painting because I love to do all of those things when I want to relax. Or maybe even taking a walk, I always walk down the beach when I’m at home and it’s beautiful and green at home so that makes even more perfect. sincerely- MacKayla S. George
Eighth Day for Maya
If you’re wondering about some of Pitzer’s recreational activities, wonder no further. If you can’t do it by yourself, do it with a ball.
When you love your chemistry teacher more than words can say, there’s only one way to tell the world.

And of course, if you aren’t completely ignorant, you’ll know that when bees go down we’re going down with them. Hence the beekeeping club.

The 19th
I choose University of Washington because it’s the first university that came to mind. In the local area of University of Washington a student can participate in Intramural soccer, softball, or tennis for the summer. A way I would relax is just staying home and not doing anything.
Guide to unwinding from college
What I like to do when I am stuck indoors all the time from school is get outside and enjoy nature. Where I go to college there are many outdoor activities that help you relax. Some of my favorite consist of fishing, kayaking, surfing, hiking and camping. When I don’t have enough energy to get out and about I like to read a book, watch some documentaries or work on projects around the house. I have learned that its important to maintain a balance between school and unwinding. Taking care of your mental and physical health are always important.
Cheers!
Enjoying relaxing activities
Pitzer college students like to go bowling and make new friends.
I think that doing things as a group is a lot safer and can be really fun. Whether it’s going to the mall, going to the farmer’s market, or visiting colleges and touring.
My day was very fun. We went to look at the scripts college and hear from Elizabeth on what it is like to go there. Scripts college was founded in 1928 by a rich white lady, and It is an all girls college. The rooms are almost like princess rooms and some of them are really big. The college has gym that is so nice that it looks like a spa, it has a really big pool. walking down the path of the scripts college, you will find Orange trees along side the buildings. Do not try them!!!!!! Kat tried them and she gave me the most disgusted look, I laughed a lot. It was so hot out today, and the whether has been being bipolar lately. Earlier in the morning, it was around 80 degrees, and when it came around 3 it was pouring. but i love both the rain and the sunshine so it wasn’t bad at all, but I feel bad for the ladies that CURLED OR STRAIGHTENED THEIR HAIR 😦 well I am liking my stay here, even though it might look like I don’t. I have never been to cali before this trip in my life, I wish I could have a little more sight seeing or touring 😦 I also think that i focus more when I have my headphones in. I thank everyone who made this program possible, and I am especially thankful for the food and knowledge that my elders are giving me.
