My community is not the best one in the whole world but that not mean that I am not allowed to contribute to my community and make a difference. As of now our park is under construction and they’re constructing a preschool, library, and a skate park. When they are done construction the buildings I plan to help create clubs and other activities within the library, for example Cup of Happy, I’ve already informed the advisers of this program. Cup of Happy is a program in which older teens help the younger crowed , treating each other like a brother sister relationship, and having mentors guide troubled teens and kids, also there is therapy sessions. I believe by introducing this program into my current community would help the younger crowed to see what is wrong and what is right, to lead others in my community onto the right path and maintain a healthy neighborhood for our future to grow and be strong.
Helping in my Community
In my community there are homeless people. I can give back and help my community by volunteering to feed the homeless. Me and my family can make food for the homeless or volunteer at our local soup kitchen and help serve. I can donate clothes to the Goodwill or the Salvation Army or even help out at an animal shelter. Giving back and helping means a lot to me. I’m grateful that for the things I have and I want to help those in need.

How I will help my community is by volunteering at a senior citizen home to help out elders who dont get any visitors or donate some old clothes to good will. I can also volunteer at my grandmothers special ed school since being a special ed teacher is what I want to be anyways.

Yesterday’s lesson was about assets. We had to come up with ten assets about our community, family, and ourselves. With defining ourself with assets we began than to think about how we could use that to contribute to our community. My three assets would have to be that i am strong, funny, and friendly. I would love to help my community would be to work with the children at the community center. With my positive energy I feel like I could have a good impact on them. Since I already volunteer at the retirement home, my new goal would be to visit them at least three times a week. Just getting to know my elders would help me to grow as a person but to also let them know that someone really does care. Assets play a key role in a community, it can show us how lucky we really are or how strong we could be with just a few simple words.

one of my assets is that i am very listening, and somewhat patient after all shading in a picture needs patience. i can use these assets to listen to people in need of a listener, even if its a whole life story i am patient. I am good at talking, fighting with words, i can use it to talk with people who need some help or deliver a speech to enlighten, or encourage them to do something good.
Assets in Luna’s community
Based on my positive assets i would want to join a volunteer group that goes around a hospital and listens or talks to the patients that are there because they need all the support they can get if they’re really sick and since i like to be motivated i would try to help build confidence in themselves. It would be a benefit because sometimes doctors aren’t able to stick around and have long conversations because they have a busy schedule. I am also taking Spanish in school so i can speak the language if there are any patients that don’t speak English that well. Since i want to be in the medical field as a career i think it would let me get used to the environment and understand some of the medical sickness that can affect on a patient not just physically but mentally.
A strange dream
last night I had this wierd dream that the pipeline students and mentors were all in a circle, and we were singing this song that I didn’t know about while there were two foxes dancing above our heads. I saw a bear sitting on the lrft side of scotty and I saw a Raven sitting on the branch watching us while we were singing. I realized that we had this close connection with these animals. Maybe our ancestors are watching us and is sending us messages about our future. 🙂

A Helping Hand!
My community is bad. The crime rate is very high. In order to change it I have to first start small with the kids in school. You have to show them that crime is not good and start a program to prevent it. Then from there we have to change the environment and make it safer and try to clean it up.After all this is done I think you can change the city little by little.
Positive Assets: Community
What we learned was “Positive Assets in our Community” with Tessa. So, She asked us what’s going on in our community and how do we change that? Well, in my community, I know that it’s pretty peaceful… But it can be filled with ignorance, hate, and bullying all around. So, I will try and stand up to be a leader not a follower. I even have my sister to back me up and I know that we can try and make a difference. ……………………………………………………………………………………….. I suck at writing but… I’ma okay at it…. Anyways, I know that people in this world should know that they, too, are gonna be hated as well… And there will be nonone to back them up. I’ll try and do my best to stand up and let my followers know that they are unique in every single way. We can try and change this community and let every know that we are all equal.
