Western First Day(:

1) Q.Whats the ideal physician patient relationship?
A.The perfect relationship is when they can connect and listen to you and your problems. they try to get on the friendship level instead of just some doctor.

2) Q.What parts of culture should they know about patients?
A.They should know your native side and your history, where you are coming from.
3)Q. What question should they have terms of the people?
A.They should ask personal questions about history
4)Q. Any good or bad experiences have you had in the medical field?or people you know?
A. Back home where i live, in Coachella, the JFK hospital is known to take forever when there are sick patients their and people are in life threatening situations and the hospital is just not organized and they take forever. My great aunt was treated their and i just hated the service, and they were very rude. We then moved her to the Eisenhower hospital which they had exactly what she needed. I really appreciate them.

Western University!

What is the ideal relationship with me and my doctor?

The Ideal relationship with me and my doctor is mainly just with with communication and were I am not treated as just a patient, but more as a friend of the doctor. And one who can understand the pain or struggle.

What should our odoctors know about me and my people?

The one thing that the doctors should know about me and my people is that we are very high-risked at mainly all these diesease’s like heart-attack, high blood pressure, and stroke.

Based on what they know or don’t know what question should doctors know?

Doctors should know that our people sometimes use medicines that grow from the earth that it creates and that it workd perfectly. Unlike the ones that companies make that could give us side-effects.

Name any good or bad experience in the medical field?

The worse medical experience I had was when a doctor gave me the wrong medication and it gave me a allergic reaction and because of that I had spinal fluid built up in one area of my spinal. And had a needle stuck in my spinal to relieve that bulid up.

Western Union!!

1) I think an ideal physician patient relationship would be for the physician and patient to be able to get along and connect with each other.

2) The cultural information doctors should know about their patients is what they believe in and what their tribal cultural doesn’t allow for them to do because it’s against their beliefs.

3) The questions doctors should ask their Native patients what their beliefs are and how ask them how the doctor can work with beliefs to make the Native patient comfortable.

4) I’ve known my friends mom who had a bad experience with one of her old physicians he talked bad about her son and the sons father. She said it was more hurtful because the father was no longer with them. They do not use that physician anymore.

Tips for DOCs :D

I like my doctor to care and to want the best for me i would like to be connected with my doctorand i would want to be able to tell them anything and i would like to feel comfortable around them.. I would like my doctor to always smile and not seem so busy 😀

Western University

Yesterday we went to Western University and we learned how anatomy is apart of animation. Our teacher showed us how the body functions and the different movements it had. And Animators would use anatomy in their animations. I LOVED it!! xD I just wanna learn other techinques from different artists.

On the go

Sitting at the table eating breakfast, I’m blogging on the go! Going to go take the young adults to do their own blogging while I’m blogging on the go! Also, I’m listening to music while I’m blogging on the go!

The Ordinary Life of the Extra-Ordinary

She stared at the keyboard, unsure of what she was supposed to do with the square-shaped buttons.
She looked around, looking at other letters become words become sentences become stories, but still.
She did not understand it.
In the hope of inspiration, an idea, a memory of what her purpose was, she wrote the word “Bob”.
She slammed her head against the table in frustration with a whine.
Bob didn’t help. Stupid Bob.
Looking around at the other organic lifeforms in the room, the brown haired girl called out loudly,
“What am I supposed to do again?!”

.:.Image.:.

Hey there. You probably know me. Yeah, I’m the kid that spins around in circles and then trips over something while being dizzy. I’m the youngest person here, 14 going on 15 in September, ya’ll. Yeah. 9th grader. Wooh. Freshmeat entering the world of pain that is commonly dubbed as the monsterous “High School”. (All beware and chizz!) I also, apparently, maks you laugh and smile, and don’t realize I’m being funny. So yeah. ” Srsly confuzzled ” (hahaha, put my avatar in there, se what I did there? Hahaha) with you organic lifeforms a lot. I just call it being “allegedly hilarious” since I can’t prove to myself I’m funny by sproating out random nonsense out of this circle on my face with white walls a pink guard, my mouth.

.:.Image.:.

My tribes are Seneca (which I keep mixing up with Shoshone since I learned about that when I was in grade school), Ohlone (I believe my family was adopted into this one! Yay!), and Tubotolobal (don’t ask me to pronounce that one. ‘Cuz I can’t). My clans are the Turtle Clan, Bear Clan, and Eagle Clan. And, because we housed a small tribe family in our house when I was a baby, I was given my Native American name in their sacred Sundance arena, and I was named “Good Hearted Woman”. Even though I’m kinda’ hyper and random and all that chizzle, is pretty true about me, I mean well, like, I try to make you smile (even though I have no absolute idea how the heck I’m doing it 😀 ). Meanwhile my middle name is Shanahdoah, which is not only the name of a kick *ss river, but also means ‘daughter of the sky”, and was where I was named after my Uncle Shanahdoah.

However, I do not know much about the history of my tribe, I was never exactly taught that. I was taught about myself, I was taught about my elders lives and their teachings, stories and songs. I think that’s more important then knowing “Where did my tribe come from?”, “Why did they move?” and all that.

Or you could say I’m just that lazy.

That works too.

And on another note, my favorite Native American song is Yama Coote, Yama Coote Yay! (if that’s how you spell it anyway) ‘cuz it sounds like “Yummy Cookies, Yummy Cookies, Yay!” and who doesn’t love cookies? Am I right?

Anyway, I’m goign to be awesomely epic and put my name at the end of all this chizz. Mwa-hahahaha….!

It’s Kayleen Knapp.

Made you guys work for it, didn’t I? xD

LOVE YA’LL, KEEP BEING EPIC!! //frolics away into the distance.

Alysha’s Biography

I was born in Tucson, Arizona with six toes on each foot, and didn’t remove them until I was three years old. When I was five, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and right now, I am a Junior at Volcano Vista High School (Home of the Hawks). My classes are primarily located in the Arts and Entertainment Academy–I study classes such as Drama, Film Production, Creative Writing, Computer Graphics, and Set Direction. While in school, I have made one “mock-umentary” and one documentary as part of class finals for Information Technology and Honors English 10. I love being a part of the Film Production that happens in Albuquerque, and I have even had the oppurtunity to get near/around three movie/television sets (The Avengers, Odd Thomas, and Breaking Bad). My favorite actors are Steve Carell, Robert Downey Jr., and Jimmy Fallon and my favorite movies are comedies…even though my favorite movie (currently) is The Avengers.

I am going to graduate from Volcano Vista in May 2014, and when I do, I plan to go to New York University to study Film Production–such as Screenwriting, Directing, Producing, Acting and Editing. Ever since I was younger, I have been dreaming of someday working at NBC Studios, either in Burbank or New York City, for the show Saturday Night Live. Hopefully, I will achieve that later in my life. Also, I am currently busy with a script for a movie that I hope will someday be on the big screen.

So, this is a little bit about me that I hope everyone enjoyed learning. I am really excited to be here in this program to improve my knowledge of medical studies and media studies. If you would like to see the projects that I have worked on, there are links down below; I didn’t really act in them, I was the person behind the camera. Thank you!!

Alysha’s “Mock-umentary” about a Daily Life at Tony Hillerman Middle School; May 17, 2010

Alysha’s Documentary about Social Networking; May 2012 **Please note that the program I used to create this video changed up the timing a bit, so you may want to pause a couple of times in the beginning, if you cannot read the whole text in time. After the first 2 minutes, it should be back to normal.

A little about Jane

Hello everybody, my name is Jane Knows His Gun.  I have traveled all the way to California from Billings, MT.  It is a very big change in both climate and people but i am able to adapt.  I come from the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Native American tribes of Montana.  Through out my life i always knew i wanted to attend a four year university. Most of the time I thought i would never make it only because people put me in the category of an under achiever.  That however is untrue:)  I found myself working as hard as i could to keep my grades up and be involved in as many extra curricular activities as possible.  Some of these activities include basketball, volleyball, cheer, dance, track, softball, and many various clubs.  I grew up with two older brothers, a younger sister, and an older sister.  I am very proud of who I am and all of my hard work has paid off.  I will be attending the University of Redlands this coming fall and i am so excited to have gotten accepted to this great school.
