The past days-Ashley

These days seem to be going by faster and faster; the days are fully packed that they make you exhausted by the end of the day. I know sometimes I may complain but at the end of the day I have learned more than I could handle. Yesterday we went to Pechanga and learned about the reservation. I have never seen anything that was as beautiful as theGreat Oak Tree.

After we went to Dr. Rega’s her hospitality was beyond amazing. It was just a blast to be with our Pitzer family and have quality time before our time ends together. Yesterday became so surreal because we graduated from Western and received a certificate of completion. One graduation down , now only one more to go.

yesterday was interesting the cadaver lab was good the brain and heart did not phase me in the least so i liked it. we also wrote little story’s for our speaker, i was tasked with how the skunk got its white strip or black? today’s ceremony was of interest as well, as of right now i am supposed to be blogging, but i am not.

The Anatomy Lab, again

Went to the Anatomy lab again!! xDD It was awesome!! *Sighs* I loved it. Y’know me, I LOVE anatomy!!! I love to touch things, I love learning about the human body… And how it functions and it’s just… Beautiful to look at! ^^ It’s amazing~! I’ve been practicing on drawing human anatomy, like… The organ, bones, the muscles, and other parts of the body! ^^ It was yet another awesome experience for me!! ^^

Yesterday was an interesting day…

First we went to Western University and it was our last day there.  We went into a big room filled with human cadavers.  I thought i would be okay with it but i kind of got creeped out.  It was still very interesting learning more about the human body and actually getting to see it.

After that we came back to campus and i worked out…

THEN…we had a speaker come and she told us stories and had us create our own stories.  It was really fun listening to other peoples stories because they were all very creative.

During freetime Luna, Brittany, Shane and I went to the vending machines and had an international party.  We met three Italian guys and they were very nice😉 Hope fully we meet more international students.

Body

Yesterday we went to Western University to see body organs from real people. we seen the hearts, brain, leg, and many other organs or body parts. We also got to see  dead body it was gross and it smelled bad

**Its The FINAL COUNTDOWN**

Our last few days together, can you believe it…. It seems like yesterday we just started unpacking but the truth is we ROCKED OUT yesterday at the pool PARTY and learned so much with Paul and The Grand Oak Tree, which was nothing that I had expected at all, it actually reminded me that in the midst of all the corrupted government and violence in today’s society there can be peace and we can stand firmly and be grow strong with others, and The Oak Tree reminds me how we can stand together as one and support each other. Also Adelina Cadilla shared her story with us this morning and i thank her for it, She is an amazing women and I respect her.

yesterday & today-Luna

Yesterday was fun because we got to go travel to Pechanga and visit the great oak and learn about the trees history and the tribes history. Shout out to Paul Macarro for showing us around. Then, we drove to Dr. Rega’s house and had a pool party which was absolutely fun and i think we all had a great time cooling off. When we came back to Pitzer we had a class with Deron Marquez he taught us about tribal government which gave me a lot of information to learn from. Today, when everyone woke up and went to ceremony Adelina Padilla spoke to us and her story was really touching deep down because she went though so much but she is a strong women and i respect that because sometimes people think they have it bad when in reality someone else always has it worse. I’m excited for right now to see the cadaversImage

But before that we went to the Pechanga reservation where they showed us the many cultural artifacts of their tribe. It was also my first time in a sweat lodge! Very exciting! I was super exhausted by the end of the day! But overall, their reservation inspired me to have as much as their tribe does, they seem very prosperous and I’m proud of them!
