I think the ideal physician patient relationship would be someone who is very supportive and caring. I would want my physician to be understanding to what you have to say and open to questions. Cultural information doctors should know about their patients would be where they come from, what’s a high risk in their family and their ethnic background so the doctor can help prevent you and your family from those risks. My family has had good experiences with medical treatment from our doctor.
**Happy Tuesday**
So, yesterday the Native students visited Western University, which was FUN. I believe that a patient and a doctor should have just that, a doctor and patient relationship because imagine yourself as a doctor and you have a patient that you became close with close enough to be as though they were part of your family but say then this patient got extremely ill or got involved in a terrible car accident and you could not do and thing to cure them or save them would you have the strength to pronounce them dead? The cultural information that doctors should know is like the history like if heart disease runs in the family or something. Also me and Christa were like the only ones wearing high heals, that was fun ALSo. There were wonderful speakers and I personally thought that Janna was brilliant when she recognized the deer on ice scene was from the movie Bambi. It was like we shared the same thought but I didn’t speak up but Janna did.
Anyways today is a new day and as a student I know I’m ready to take on the day are YOU?

What is the ideal physician relationship for you?
The ideal relationship for me is for there to be a connection. You have to be able to trust the person that is taking care of you and treating you for any sickness. I would have to comfortably trust them with my life because that is basically what they are in charge of.
Good and bad experiences your family has had with the medical field.
There has not really been any bad experiences other then the sicknesses that could not be helped in my family. The doctors that have worked with my family have always been very considerate and caring.
What cultural information should doctors know about their patients?
Before anything, doctors should know the background of the patient.l Not only where they come from but also the medical history behind the family. Some cultures are more prone to certain diseases and sicknesses just because of the way they evolved.
What questions should doctors ask about Native culture and health?
Many Native families have diabetes in their family. This is very important for doctors to ask about because there is a very high chance that the patient could also have the diabetes. Doctors should ask about heart problems and any other kind of disease.
Western University questions.
What’s the ideal doctor-patient relationship?
A doctor should understand a bit about you, in a way you can’t approach every patient the same way. Some patients would want to be more up front while others may want more of a friend basis.
What should your doctor know about you and/or your people?
Diabetes is all too common in our people. Some may hold the old traditions and not like pills and other kinds of modern day treatments.
What type of questions should your doctor have for you?
Questions about eating habits and exercise are very important, make sure to address the risk of Diabetes.
Any good or bad experiences with doctors?
Most of my visits with doctors have been well, though I know a friend who has been treated horribly due to mental illnesses and the reactions people give her because of that. Many doctors became very hostile towards her when she told them she had decided against taking medicines, only because they all had bad side effects as well. We live in a world very based around the belief that a simple pill can fix anything and everything, though that is not entirely so. Doctors should be ready to help guide a patient towards a path to better help without the wish of medicine if the patient so chooses, peacefully.

Any good or bad experiences with doctors

Western First Day
The first day at Western was awesome I learned about diabetes and healthy issues. I also learned about animation about animals, characters, and anatomy an aniimation characters. The relationship with doctors and patients should be based in a good understanding with one another. Some ways of doing that would be asking question about thier culture and backgrounds. The doctor should ask the patients if they take any medication our have any other health issues.Doctors also need to be generous, kind, understading of the person.
