Hey! My name is Jasson Murgo and I identify myself as a Cora from Tepic Nayarit, Mexico. I see myself as a leader in school, as well in sports. I consider myself a athlete, however
I focus on soccer because it is family tradition and I feel free when I play. In a
ddition, I also consider myself an artist as I have a
skill in drawing. I am from a school, Anahuacalmecac which is located in North East Los Angeles and I am on my way to being a Junior next year. I participate in the teen court for my school that includes a real case every month which is determined by twelve jurors. I also participate in a theater club, in which we create improve plays. I have volunteered at the L.A county fair for 5 days as part of Generation Green. I obtained an award for the S.H.A.D.E.S program as a requirement for teen court. Another award for teen court was for participating in CAYC. I gave a speech to the public about overcoming my challenges during the L.A County fair. I hope to have a successful education to have my dream job.
Ansel’s bio
Hey y’all! My name is Ansel Rodriguez, my Nahuatl name is Quiztoc Achcuatli. I am from North East Los Angeles and I identify as Mexica. I see myself as a risk taking leader who engages himself in many different physical activities such as playing basketball, long distance running, and hiking. I attend Anahuacalmecac International University Preparatory High School of North America and I am going into my junior year, in fact I’ve been at Anahuacalmecac since the first grade. I really enjoy new experiences and expanding my education, so I always involve my self in different summer programs. Last summer I was proud to be a part of the Han Ban Summer Bridge Program, which was basically a cultural exchange program. My school has this huge project called the personal project that the sophomore class must complete to culminate from the MYP. Recognitions that I have received and I am proud of are running in the half marathon and completing my personal project. I actually have presented publicly, I recited a poem at Self Help Graphics in support of the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa. In my future I hope to better my community and continue my education.
Diegos 1st Day
Hello,
Today I learned how to make a clapping stick and really got into theater. We were able to express ourselves in a fun way with new friends. I learned a lot about my peers here at Pitzer today. I feel these two upcoming weeks are really something to look forward to and expect a lot from this program.
Robert’s First Impression
My first impression was a fun, I learned how to make a clapping stick, and expressed myself during theater. I am going with the flow and enjoying myself with others. I can not wait for tomorrows new adventures.
my first impression – maddie
HEY!
Soo, today was the very first day in the program. Staring with drop off, I was too excited to settle into my room and meet my roommates. Then was orientation which was real cool hearing all the mentors introductions. Overall, I felt excited to get started. Once we did get started in theater I was able to meet others and express myself. Then meeting with an elder and making my own personalized clapping stick was defiantly a big highlight. Now, I am trying to get a hang of blogging which is interesting and sometimes challenging. I can not wait for what tomorrow brings!
Thank you!
THIRD IMPRESSION #peachesforlife

Agnes Day 1
Hello! My name is Agnes, I am 13 years young. I am Chumash and Pueblo on my mother’s side. I am Sicilian on my father’s side. I live in Atascadero, but some of my ancestors are from Malibu (Wishtoyo) and there are other places as well. That is just the one place I know we are for sure from. I don’t know pretty much anything about my Pueblo side. I also know very little about my Sicilian side. The one thing I do know is we were knights in Italy and that’s about it. I’m a very open minded person and I love to speak up to a lot of things I believe are wrong. It can get me in trouble at times but I do it anyway. I’m a very friendly person when you get to know me but on the outside I’m pretty shy. This is my first year attending the Pitzer College program. I’ve been involved with Wishtoyo and their programs for a while now. Today being my first day, I was nervous but knowing some people didn’t make it so hard. I did talk to new people that I’ve never meet and I am shy so it was kinda hard. Talking to each other in theatre made it not as nerve raking. All in all today being my first day was pretty good!
Tina: Día Uno
Hakû, Cristina kaki! I am Chumash, O’odham, Hispanic and African American. I am a junior at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long beach, California where I was born and raised. I am 16 years young. My hobbies are acting, listening to music and just straight-up chilling. This is my first year attending the Pitzer College. My dream job is to be a theatre arts teacher or something theatre oriented. So, today was my first day joining the program and the moment I stepped out of the car, I was greeted by Nick, Agnes and Dani. I am so excited to see what these two weeks have in store. Stay tuned!!!
