For the cause to get more Native kids to attend college, I’d like to talk to my friends about our book we have created together. There are many aspects that are obtained within the book that gives better perspective to young Native youth. I’d share it with family also so they can be encouraged to attend college.
#READMYBOOK
The way I can get the native youth to read my book is to take it to the TANF office I go to in Commerce and have my peers read is or in out youth reading circle I can ask if we can read it there so the older and younger youth can read it.
LAST DAY :];
1) My story, the commitment I would make to distribute my book as a website or posted on facebook. I would also talk to the LIBC to see if I would be able to hand out my experience to everyone that walks in.
2) I would share my story with, my father and all the people he cares about. I would like to share my story with the Lummi Youth Academy to give a bit more information about myself to them. Maybe I would share my story my last year in high school to my teachers and first year of college.
The last full day!
Im excited to go home, even though I wasn’t able to get as connected with the mentors and peers as much as I wanted to. Im sad that there is people I will not be able to see next year but I’m happy to participate with everyone in the activities this year. This year didn’t feel as crowded as last year and we didn’t really get to go by the schedule which I thought was great.
Trisha’s Question:
Who will come back next year?
Home many pairs of shoes do you have?
#peachesforlife
To distribute a Native Youth Survival Guide to preparing for college, I would talk to other kids that look up to me or have yet to look up to me and recommend the book to them. I would also distribute it to educational helpers in my community and teachers at the Lummi Nation School. Online I would share it and post it on my wall tagging others in my community to read or skim through it.
I would share it online and in my school , I would recommend it to close friends and other Native American youth in my tribe.
Today at the Workshop at Chaffey Historical Center and Church, I learned a lot about Native American projects and we got Brownies which were so perfect!
Native Youth Survival Guide
Be true to yourself and to your people. Do not let anyone make you into anything other than who you are.
I have committed to sharing my book via social media and words.
The last blog
1) The comment I would like to make about my Native Youth Guide is to try to get it out there and show people my story and my time in the pipeline.
2) The way I would show my information by telling my school about it because I know they will be really suporative and especially tell my parents about it.
Last Day of Blogging :( :)
A commitment I can make to distribute our book Native Youth Survival Guide to preparing for college would to be not to forget to, and make sure I talk about it often. I will share the information by telling everyone at the Lummi Youth Academy, and show everyone I can possibly show, especially high school students.
Last full day !!!!! :(
1. I will spread the word by sharing it on facebook and all the social media. I will try to tell everybody on the rez and i will where my t -shirt from here. I am going to brag about how great it is here.
2. I go to a lot of community gatherings and i will tell all the youth about how beneficial this program is and how fun it is. I will inspire people to come.
Native Youth Survival Guide
1) I will try to show it to the native youth in my tribe, and tell them about this program!
2) I participate in a lot of community activities, so I will have a lot of opportunities to share my experience and other students that attended the 2015 Pipeline Program!
I’m Sad it’s over, but I’m excited for next year.
Sharing Is Caring
1. The main thing I can do is sharing it with my brothers. From the I can take it to a larger scale and share it at my school. Im sure the kids would love the book at my school because much of it will relate to their own experiences and culture. Sure it might seem simple to do this, but it really gets difficult to encourage and influence young kids now a days. Nonetheless, I have learned many skills in this pipeline that will help me further commit to sharing this book with others.
2. All the information gained from this program will definitely be passed to all my friends and community. I believe this has been a great experience and other indigenous kids should experience this pipeline. I will personally share this information with other kids because there is nothing better than a face to face conversation. I believe this can be very impactful.
