Jarrod’s First Day….Again

Today, was fun actually. I know that today was a bit hard because I had to say bye to my loved ones. I also love that i was forced to get off my lazy bum and actually do something and meet new people. I already love everyone in this environment because everyone seems easy going and not menacing. Most of the stuff was just talking to each other and getting to know each other. The ice breaker was the whole group making up a story and having each person remember all the parts. Over all the day was really good.

Hey, ya'll! It's good to be back in the program! I'm super excited to meet all of the arriving students and reconnecting with those I've met previously during my years as a student in this program! I wish you all well

Welcome mentees 😀 We are so happy to welcome you all to Pitzer College. It will be a day filled with lots of activities, so it is crucial that we all stay hydrated! Throughout the campus, you will find hydration stations where you can fill up water bottles.

As mentors, we are here to support you, guide you, and go through this experience with you. If you have any questions, concerns, feedback, you’d like to share, please reach out to us 🙂

Let’s get started! What’s your favorite food and/or hobby?

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Today is the eve of the arrival of the entire youth group. As the first four students have arrived, every one of the mentors has expressed excitement for what is in store. During lunch we had the wonderful opportunity to meet a few of the Lummi Students, Rolando, Issac, Nathen and Kayani. Though conversation with them was brief, the initial connections with them seem quite promising. Nathen, is a Boston Celtics fan. Something that would irk me if he were not my mentee because I am a Los Angeles Lakers fan (having grown up in Southern California and falling in love with basketball at the four years young). Needless to say these teams are historic rivals. Nevertheless, I see only positive things in store for the next two weeks.

Genna – Filmmaker – Intro (Post 1)

Hi,

I’m Genna. I recently graduated from Pitzer College and am super excited to work for the Pitzer Native Youth 2 College Summer Program again this year.

I am a media and filmmaker, artist, and teacher. I like to take photos, travel, and spend time in nature (especially the mountains and trees).

Feel free to ask me any questions about WordPress and media. I’m happy to help!

Lets have a great two weeks!
