Today we saw the movie “Spirit Game: Pride of a Nation” and it was a really interesting movie. I really enjoyed every part of it, the game part which was really entertaining and intense. I didn’t only like that part, but the message behind it. It was about the Iroquois reclaiming the game that they have lost during colonization times. The were banned to play the game as part of their assimilation. The movie also talked about the Doctrine of Discovery. The Doctrine of Discovery has changed and shaped history. Many Natives have lost their land because of this Doctrine of Discovery. It is even used today in courts and people have justified their ownership of land through this Doctrine. I like how they interviewed many people in high positions about the Doctrine, especially the pope. My favorite part of the movie was how they always lost. I liked the way they took the L by holding their heads high and being proud for themselves for making it so far. Most of my questions were answered at the end. A question I was going to ask is, why don’t women play Lacrosse? This was answered clear and it made me realize why.

Today was a great day. I am glad to have been able to watch a screening of a great movies called “Spirit Game: Pride of a Nation”. In the movie, I learned that us natives have been discriminated by other countries and beliefs. I loved that the people that are playing the game lacrosse are playing their hearts out.

The movie was truly inspiring and motivating. I liked it because it was something different for me, specifically I enjoy sports like cheer, softball and volleyball, so watching this movie definitely opened my eyes to something different. This movie was also touching because there was a situation that involved the pope and a indigenous leader. They would not let the leader in with his headgear witch is sacred to him. It is a sign of responsibility and strength, although security did not see it that way. They saw his headgear as a sign of danger because it had horns on the top. This conflict was not worth it because at the end they left it at the table alone and unsupervised. That was a sign of disrespect. One thing that caught my eye and will stay with me is that not all people value the same things, some people truly do not recognize how cherished and honorable native culture truly is.

Watching Spirit Game overall was a great movie that was very entertaining. I have never heard of this movie before so to be introduced to it was a great experience because, now all the people like me who haven’t heard of it can introduce it to our friends and family and it can be spread. One thing that really spoke out to me was when they were talking about how women also have an impact on lacrosse. Even though women don’t play the game as much they are believed to be a much more powerful human being.

The heart-warming movie “Spirit Game” was an amazing movie about the history of the Iroquois Tribe that was never told. It showed us how the Lacrosse team was turned down to play in many games, but they never gave up on making it. The film inspired me to keep going and there will be many obstacles but you can overcome it. The movie was amazing, Gale Anne Kelley did such a great job!
Spirit Game was good
This movie was a very interesting to me because it talked about the relation to the old game played by the Iroquois. Lacrosse was the healing and friendship game between the Natives. This game was shared by all the countries. I was amazed on how the original players of the game were to good. The most important scenes that stood out to me where when the referee called bad plays on the Iroquois and the opposing team always won. History repeats its self. This movie was a big take away for me.

The movie Spirit Game was about the Iroquois playing the game Lacrosse a game that their ancestors have played for thousands of years but instead of playing people from their own area they take on teams on the international level which means playing against other countries. This movie had a strong effect on both the mind and body. As you watch this movie you instantly begin to feel their pride, determination and integrity throughout every second of the movie.

Today was a great and blessed day. I was given the opportunity to experience watching a screening of the movie “Spirit Game: Pride of a nation”. This was very inspirational because it taught me the lesson of patience. The movie displayed patience by showing that the even though the native lacrosse players went through many losses, they were still never defeated within their spirit. This is a great lesson because it shows that no matter how hard the situation is, you should never give up on yourself and your spirit. Gale Ann Kelley is an amazing producer and did a great job on this documentary. I thank the creator for allowing me to see this wonderful movie.

the movie was good. i really liked it. i would like to learn more about the game. i want to play. it looks really fun. the movie was really good. they talked about how they played and how long they played. they have been playing for a while. they ancestors have been playing it since 1890. they used it for medicine, not to be a sport were they just played to hurt people. i would like to get the movie and watch it again.

Today i watched the movie Spirit Game: Pride Of The Nation, and as soon as the movie started i could not stop watching. The movie was intense and overall interesting. The Producer of the movie (Gale), did an incredible job. I Cant imagine how much work and effort all of the cast crew put into this film. The over all review is that i can watch this film over and over until i’m blind.
