my name is Cecelia

Today, I met 11 new students from all over the US, besides the 9 kids (including me) from Lummi, WA. I have never been to California before!!!!! it is beautiful here and everyone is very open and friendly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL we did a few icebreakers and we had some good laughs :)))))))))))))))))))))))))

Im glad that I went outside of my comfort zone right away by coming on this trip and talking in front of everyone casually.                                                                                        I like to draw, although i don’t think I’m very good at it. I like to play team volleyball, i sometimes play basketball, just for fun. I’m from Bellingham, Washington, I’m 15 years old, and i like to make things less awkward, by showing people that I’m comfortable around them, and being myself, while allowing others to be their selves. I like VANS, longboards, beaches, hot weather, and saunas

my friend told me i was going to pipeline to college, i guess i just went with it it was a 50/50 that i wanted to/ didn’t want to come to Pitzer college pipeline program

HAHA YOGURTTTTT

Getting To Know Juan

As you read in the title, my name is Juan. I was born in Tepic, Nayarit Mexico. At the early age of 2 years old I went on a year long adventure along with my family. This adventure was going to “el norte”. “El Norte” is what many people in Mexico refer to the United States as. My mother brought me and my siblings in search of the cliche better life. So far, it has definitely been a better life for me and my family. So this is pretty much where my life begins. I am now an incoming senior at Anahuacalmecac High School. My greatest passion is playing soccer. I’ve played soccer since I was very young and I am a huge fan. And when I say huge, i mean really huge fan. If it weren’t for soccer and my family, who knows where I’d be at this moment. I don’t really know what I want to study after High School but one thing is for sure, I am going to college. This is one reason why I decided to come to the Pipeline Program.

So far, my first day has been really chill. I’ve met new people and hope to make new friendships. And I really hope to hope on to the soccer pitch here at Pitzer College.

Trisha’s First/ Second Day :)

Im Trisha Smith from Bellingham WA (Lummi) I like pizza, video games (I miss my tv already :D) there is also my favorite color is purple. I want to come to a California college. I l like making weird sounds when I’m bored. In my near future I want to get into business and own a business here in California.

I have returned again because I think this a great program. To help try new things and I can be shy or very happy and out goings SOMETIMES. Mackayla also was happy about coming back all year so she made me happy about coming back.

My First Day:

I’ve been happy to see everyone again and all the new people. The icebreakers were very fun to play. I really want to go shopping and play volleyball.

I have now nothing else to say :O

alyssa’s first day

My name is Alyssa Smallwood  I am from the lummi nation in washington. I enjoy traveling and learning while i travel. I love meeting new people. The reason i signed up for the pipeline was because for a few obvious reasons such as, traveling, meeting new people,  getting to see a collage campus, and learning to be independent. if i am being completely honest i wasn’t sure if i was going to come my cousin Mackayla was a huge part of me coming. my first day was quite entertaining i imaged it to be more like calm and not as energetic. i was very excited to come here and i have expectations for how it goes and the first day was what i wanted it to be. it was clearly a good first day.

Maya’s First Day

I am Maya Winnick, I am 14 years old, and I am going into my sophomore year at Claremont High School. I’ve lived almost all of my life in Claremont, California, and I’m of Taino descent. My biggest passion is art; particularly ceramic sculpture and acrylic painting. I hope to one day attend Pitzer with a major in art and a minor in psychology and then proceed to attend a school which offers a masters in Art Therapy. While I do know the schedule, I don’t completely know what to accept from Pipeline, but I am excited.  Today was good, but due to my two hours of sleep last night it seemed to drag on. I really wish there was more vegetarian food. I’ll make sure to bug Scott.

Blogging for the Day

My name is Kyla, I come from Washington, and my tribe is Lummi. I attend Ferndale High School, play soccer there, and my favorite subject is English. An achievement I am proud of is going into honors next semester.

I wanted to attend Pitzer Pipeline Program because I wanted to learn more about college, I love California, and when I go to college I want to be in California.

The first day was very long because we woke early and had many activities to do today. Although it was long, I still had fun but my hands stink.

I’m Katherine (or Kat)

I come from Lummi Nation in Washington state, I am also Assiniboine from Carry the Kettle First Nations in Saskatchewan, Canada. I like Basketball and Singing, I love helping my community and volunteering for my tribe. I found out about the pipeline program from my sister Danielle, who attended last year. She told me so many things, about how fun and useful it is and I really believe this program will prepare me for the future. It’s the first day and everyone is so friendly, and I know everyone already!  These two weeks are going to be great!

MacKayla Sharon! :D

My name is MacKayla Sharon George I’m from the Lummi Nation tribe or as some of our people say Lhaq’te’mish. I’m going to be in 11th grade I go to Lummi Nation Tribal School, It’s a K-12 school so I’ve been at Lummi Nation School since Kindergarden. I come from two huge families there’s the Scott side that are serious about school and are strict, then theres the crazy Revey side that are really funny and like to have a great time, they can be serious when it comes to school too, that’s just because they all love us and want us to succeed in life, my grandpa always tells me everyday I will be the first to graduate college in the family and that makes me want to try so much more harder and to be a great example for all my little siblings and cousins. I love the Pitzer program there are really great and amazing people here and they inspire me and I hope to inspire people at home to do things like this I can’t wait until I graduate and go to college. Today was a good day I can’t believe I got to come back and meet new people and see the faces from last year, I can’t wait to go back to the village, that was my favorite part! My day was a great day and I can’t wait and see what tomorrow’s day brings! ❤

First Day of Pitzer for Nick Miller :D

Hiya everybody! My name is Nick Miller and I’m part of the Chumash tribe. I’m 15 years old and am a sophomore at the Atascadero High School. I like to play football, run track, play video games, and hangout. I was here at the Pitzer Pipeline Program last year and I came back here looking forward to the new activities and the new experiences not a lot of people get to experience. I arrived here right on time and got the opportunity to have a room by myself (YES!!!!). I got to meet my new mentor and got to see familiar faces once again. We made rattles from elk hide today and made a necklace made of soapstone. ‘Twas the most bodacious day and I hope to get to have more amazing experiences!!!
