Common Application is a website that helps you with finding the tuition and phone numbers of the admissions office, it is where you choose a college in the state you want and tells you all the information you need to know and how to apply, that’s why the website is so helpful.

Students that might sign up for the common app will need to have their personal information and a pen and paper to take notes.

It is super important to research colleges before you apply because the students might not like the school setting or the classes they provide. And to know the background of the college, you want to have a instant bond when you read about the college you’re researching.

The student writing the essay has to make a great impression on the person reading it, that’s why writing a fantastic application essay is so important.

Some tips to writing an amazing essay would be to always be yourself but never babble on about how your the best. The student should speak from their heart.

Some tips that I recommend is to add some humor into it, the application essay shouldn’t be so stiff. The student should put their thoughts and feelings into it. Don’t go for facts, go for your real life experiences. Things you’ve learned from your elders and parents.

1.  The common application is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to any of 517 member colleges. This does not include Uc’s and Cal State’s.

2. Students must first sign up for the common application website. There isn’t quite big preparation to this, because the common app practically runs you down in all the instructions. After signing up, you may add colleges to your list and you can get all the contact information you need for that specified college.

3. Researching colleges before applying is crucial in the application process. When you research colleges you are able to find out more about the college. You always want to research to narrow down your choices for college. This is important because you don’t want to apply and go to a college that you never researched and it turned out that the college was not the right one for you.

4. Writing a strong college essay will separate and differentiate you from the rest of the applicants. This is when admission gets to know who you are and they really look forward to a great essay. It is important that you keep the reader entertained while at the same time you write the truth of who you are.

5. When writing a college essay it is vital that you do as many drafts and revisions as possible. Have tons of people read and give you feedback to strengthen your essay. During this, try to stay truthful and be cautious with humor. Something that may be funny to you might not be funny to the person reading your essay. Another great thing to do is to state how you overcome challenges and explain what you have to offer for the college community.

6. I believe that in order to engage the reader when telling your own story is to tell it. Many of the times people will get really creative when writing but you must take into consideration the word limit. Many of the times its 500 words, so you must in a way keep it concise. Another great tip is to tell them how you are able to learn from your story and what you have to offer.

But rather than focusing on why the challenge may have been the most difficult challenge you have ever faced in your entire life, it is more important to write about what you learned from the experienced or what skills you learned.

6) In order to engae the reader in to your essay, make sure to write about the experiences that were extremely life changing, or an experience that was a once-in-a-life-time experience..

1.  The common application is helpful because while your applying you find out information about college and it takes you through some steps on how to apply.

2. They need to be prepared for the application. When I first looked at it I thought it looked kind of weird, you need to know the your information because obviously your parents can’t fill out your college application for you :D.. I started filling out my high school application and I had no idea on what to do I had to ask my auntie all these questions. So I guess kind of be prepared on what you think might be on there, there can be some things on there you wouldn’t expect, who knows, you won’t know until you fill it out.

3. It is important to do research before you apply because you need to know about the college and you need to know the majors, you need to know the some things you never expected while you do research, so when you do research and you find something you didn’t expect then your like “Oh okay this is good to know” so you can look things up you weren’t prepared for or thought were on it.

4. I think it’s important to write a strong college essay because maybe the better the essay the better chance you have getting into the college. You also have to have good grades, honestly this year I didn’t come out with the best grades, and I’m going to be in 11th so that is most likely gong to affect a college I want to apply for. So get good grades.

5. Some great tips on writing a good essay is write about your self and not others, they want to know about you, not your family your the one applying they want to know about you, have people go over it and re read it, get a lot of people to read it and give you feedback on how you did and if they say you need to make a few changes, then make them it’s only a few changes.

6. Some tips for telling my own story is I talk about my problems a lot so sorry, but I also want to tell how it’s affected me, how I wanted to give up but got back because the people who love me and believe in me encouraged me to get back up, It’s like Canoe Pulling, it’s our tradition in Lummi, we do races and if you lose don’t get so mad easy just keep trying and one day you’ll make it to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place just as long as you try and have fun, not everything is about competition as long as you do it and have fun with the people you love. 😀 MacKayla Sharon George

Be honest about what you write, do not lie about anything

Make sure you are expressing your true self and thoughts

Meet the requirements of the essay and even more

Go above and beyond with it, but not too much

Don’t babble, stay on topic

Tell your story in a way that keeps the reader interested. Be yourself. Try not to make It boring, maybe pick a point in your life that you know is heart-moving, interesting, or exciting.

I think the common app is where it is possible to find the college that fits me.
