1. Common app was helpful for applying to colleges because it gave me an idea of the tuition and the costs of living at college. Applying for college is going to be an interesting process. Thinking of the common application as a practice run for the real applications . Practice makes perfect.

2. Students need to have the colleges they want to go to in mind cause if you just go on the common app website without an outline then its kind of pointless. If you have a few colleges in mind thats why the site is there.

3. Its important to research colleges before because you have to think of what kind of climate you want to live in and how far you want to move away from home. You want to look into how many people are in the school has. You want to focus on what you need to give your 100% focus on education.

4. It is so dramatically important to write a great college essay because it determines if you get in top college or not. There are many things you have to have to get in to college but a college essay lets the college know how well prepared you are and how badly you want to get in.

It is important to research different colleges before so that you will have an idea to what the different colleges offer. Its important to write a good essay because the grades are not just the only thing that can get you into a college because if u have a strong and powerful story that is also a good help. Have more then one person to look over your essay and use smart words. Some things that can catch the readers attention is write from your heart and tell the true story.2

Almost everyday, our crew has been attending to “Common Applications” which makes you rethink what your “game plan” will be.  There are several ideas of what to choose as a career and to study on.  This almost daily class has been inspiring each of us individually to find the best college that suites our needs.  There are many different types of colleges that I am considering at the moment.  I’ve determined that I’ll plan on becoming a veterinarian but this ideal may change in the mysterious incoming circumstances.  There can only be one decision but I understand that I have plenty of time to rethink things.  When applying for college, this class may help since it gives us insight of what will be on the application.  Shelva Hurley has persuade most of us that this need for further education is in one of the highest importance in succeeding in life.

When finishing the common application, there are some necessities that are required to be completed.  For one, you have to determine the college you want to attend to.  There are various colleges that specify in certain studies; in example, if I were to attend a college and I still want to become a veterinarian, I’d need to attend a college or university specially obtaining the studies of life science or animal science.  They’d ask you a range of questions reflecting on your life and personality.

Researching for colleges should be important while applying for a college because there are costs to attending colleges, stats to reassure your graduating percentage, the majors you may want.  All those are only a partial ration of what components are distributed throughout an entire college curriculum.

Writing a solid college essay is mainly giving you professors and the board of admission. If you have an inner network and if they like what you write, they see where you come from and see the real potential you may obtain.

If you have a connection to your professors, they see you are trying to become a good student and when they write about you when you are trying to get a job, they’ll have a good context to write off of.  You may as well make friends with your professors rather than enemies.

The common application is the application process used by the majority of top colleges and universities to get into an undergraduate program, and is the most helpful thing I’ve used to find and compare colleges. When I use the Common Application, I legitimately feel like I’m actually making progress towards my educational goals. You can see location, offered majors, tuition, and much more. If you enter information about the major you’re looking into, the area code you want to be near, and the parts of college that are most important to you, the Common Application will even show you colleges and the percentage you match up with them. To prepare to fill out the common app you must first make an account. It’s also helpful to have a major in mind, and to know what kind of school you’d like to attend. I’d personally want to major in art with a possible double major in psychology, and attend a small liberal arts school. It’s incredibly important to research colleges before you apply. If you don’t know the kind of college or what it offers, it’s  a waste of your money and application time if you end up realizing it’s not what you had in mind. For instance, I probably wouldn’t want to attend Cornell University because I feel more comfortable in small, intimate teaching settings, and would like to be closer to home. One of the most essential things in applying to colleges is submitting a strong college essay.  The top two factors colleges take into account are high school GPA and your admission essay. In many colleges, admission essays are held more important than SAT scores. So if you aren’t a strong test taker, you can still help your chances of getting into a college by writing a solid essay. I’ve realized that I write the strongest essays when I’m writing something I’m passionate about, or something that is deeply personal. This is your chance to not only flaunt yourself (for the best possible reason), but also to really speak about what is close to your heart. So write about something you would fight for. Write about something that people need to know. Write about something that is important- to you. And write about it with the same passion that you have in yourself.

Th common application is a website that will help you apply to colleges, and learn about colleges near and far. It is also helpful when applying to college because you’ll know more the college you’re applying to. Students should always know what they want to major in, and where they want to attend for college in order to be prepared for the common app. Researching colleges before applying is always important because you can not like the campus, the programs there, and they may not have classes they wanted to apply for. Also writing a strong essay for college is important because it will help you get accepted into the college you apply for. One main tip for writing a great college essay would to be not writing about your failure, but what came out of your failure after the introduction mad how you overcame your failure. The common application is an easy way to learn how to fill out your application and how to type your essays for college. It’s really helpful! I’ve already started my essay prompts and hopefully be finished with the final essay before I start my senior year! Students prepare yourself by making notes and rough drafts and start the account to get started! Don’t forget to ask for help! It’s important to start looking at college when you get to high school it will give you some guidance to stick with the curriculum and requirements. Also research them and see what they have to offer for you and what you would like to major in to lead you to your future career. Take a tour! Today was a very spiritual day for all the indigenous youth. Felt good to take a stand for the protest for our indigenous rights! We sang and walked, not only for ourselves but fo reveryone who needed it the most. I was glad to see the community cheering us on and reading our posters for what we think is right, today we had a purpose and that was to make a change! #IDLENOMORE

Today we carried the voice of millions of aboriginal energies in our walk. We were not idle in any way whatsoever. The spirit of our peoples persist in our hearts and souls, and we let Claremont know. We danced. We laughed. We sang. We shouted. We were true to ourselves. I had the task of carrying the Huehue’s blanket on my shoulder. I did this with honor and pride.

We did not simply walk. We had purpose. We communicated our rights for acknowledgement and recognition as original peoples. Our women are statistically at the top of the missing peoples list. This needs to change.

In canada, we are called First Nations. In the United States, we are called Native Americans. Call us what you will; we are the caretakers of the Earth and its children. As Human Beings, we should never have to assert ourselves and make sure our rights are known. However, our governments force us to. We are often stripped of basic human entitlements and we want our leaders to stop being Idle. They were appointed to make change, and so they need to.
